The 44-year-old former CAC coach faces multiple charges of theft and fraud in Pinal County.
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — A former Central Arizona University basketball coach has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling student financial aid and fundraiser funds, officials announced.
Pinal County Sheriff's Office He said 44-year-old Dennis Cardenas was recently arrested in Yuma following an investigation into theft.
Four students, one parent, and the school have come forward on suspicion that the coach stole up to $28,000. The alleged crimes occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Cardenas faces multiple charges of theft and fraud.
according to PinalCentral article, The coach allegedly told the students they would have to repay a portion of their scholarship money and instructed them to send the money directly to her.
