Arizona Dad confronts home intruder attempting to abduct his child

Page, Arizona (AZ Family) — A man is behind bars in northern Arizona after allegedly breaking into a home and trying to kidnap a child Friday.

Just after 7:15 p.m., officers were called to a Page, Arizona, neighborhood after receiving a report of a man breaking into a home.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

As detectives investigated, they learned that the resident of the home was on the phone in his bedroom when they heard noises coming from the living room. When he entered the room, he saw an unknown man sitting in a chair next to a young child.

The boy’s father told the stranger to leave the house. The suspect then allegedly tried to grab the child. That’s when the father punched the suspect in the face.

Officers began searching for the suspect and found him near The Bowl, a nearby bowling alley. Navajo Drive and Lake Powell Boulevard. He attempted to evade arrest but was safely detained by police officers.

The man was taken into custody at the Coconino County Jail. His identity, charges, and photograph have not been released.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
