Apache County, Arizona (KGUN) – The Arizona Game and Fish Department is currently investigating poaching of bighorn sheep near Nutriso, Arizona.
Authorities said the ram was killed between the night of April 28 and the morning of April 29, and the body was found in a quarry one mile west of Route 191.
“This is not what hunters do. Poaching is a crime, stealing wild animals from Arizonas. Anyone with information should come forward and prevent Gibie and Fish from bringing those responsible to justice.” It’s important to help,” said AZGFD Wildlife Manager Tyler. McGoey said.
If you have information, please call AZGFD’s Operation Game Thief program at (800) 352-0700. The department offers a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. In addition, the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society has offered him an additional $2,500 for information leading to a conviction.
