A male inmate at an Arizona prison was caught climbing over a guard to reach the women's side of the facility, where he said he intended to “rape” a female inmate, according to court documents.
The disturbing incident happened in front of security cameras in April. Justin Avery A man being held on suspicion of sexually assaulting five women near Arizona State University's Tempe campus was seen sneaking past a security guard at a Maricopa County detention facility at 4 a.m.
According to court documents: ABC15He said he was attracted to the female inmates' “thick butts” and would sneak up on them “like a spider.”
Records show Avery went to the women's unit and pulled his pants down behind a sleeping inmate, later allegedly admitting he intended to sexually assault her.
Apparently, he was stopped when another woman spotted him and yelled for him to get off, and security intervened.
He later confessed to his actions and was charged with an additional count of sexual assault, according to reports.
He is reportedly due to appear in court next week.
