Want to learn more about Arizona and American culture and history? If so, join us for the 2023 season of the Arizona Lecture Series at Apache Junction High School’s Performing Arts Center, 2525 S. Ironwood Road, Apache Junction.
Lectures begin January 9th and continue every Monday through March 27th at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $5 per person, and season tickets are $50 for all 12 lectures. Season tickets can be purchased at . az-apachejunction-lite.intouchreceipting.com/azlectureseries or in person at the Apache Junction Unified School District Office, 1575 W. Southern Ave. by January 9.

On January 9th, Ken Sorenson announces “John F. Kennedy.” In his presentation, Sorenson provides a personal account of the 35th President of the United States, providing insight into the history of the Kennedy family and the impact JFK and his family had on the nation’s consciousness.
On January 16th, Bill Harrison announces “John Dillinger’s Public Enemy No. 1.” Harrison captivates the audience with background on the extraordinary era that brought Dillinger to fame. During the Great Depression, people didn’t see Dillinger as an outlaw, but an avenger who would punish the bank for all the wrongs it did to the country. Arizona served as the infamous backdrop for Dillinger’s adventures. Harrison focuses on Dillinger’s life and crimes, detailing how Arizona became the place where America’s first celebrity criminal career ended. .
On January 23rd, Wild Man Phil Rakoci announces Desert Dwellers. Rakoci tells the audience about the calamities he faced growing up in Arizona. Rakoci also shares interesting facts and inspiring stories about creatures and conditions often associated with Arizona’s wild outdoors. From a hilarious tale about brothers experiencing attacks of various creatures to an amazing variety of live animals that suddenly appear on stage, this stand-up style show will educate, entertain and leave the audience wanting more .
