Local First Arizona and hundreds of change makers will gather this year at the 16th Annual Arizona Regional Policy Forum at Bullion Plaza in Miami.
The conference will bring together nearly 300 community leaders for two days of forums and additional events in The Globe and Miami to deepen networking and educate attendees about why this part of the Copper Corridor is a special part of Arizona. It is said that you will know directly. release.
This year’s theme is “Turning Strategy into Action”. Based on last year’s feedback, the program will include more interactive sessions and networking opportunities focused on ‘strategic action’.

The goals of the forum are to:
- Improve regional cooperation among non-profits, small and medium enterprises, local employers, governments and public bodies to promote economic development.
- Build relationships and promote networking among rural stakeholders.
- Improve the economic capacity of rural towns.
- Developing Advocates for Rural Arizona.and
- Create new strategies for building resilient communities.
Forum speakers include:
- Arizona Department of Resilience Director Maren Mahoney shares how the new state agency is working to secure the state’s water supply and advance a clean energy economy.
- Liz Nilsen, Associate Director of the Agile Strategy Lab, is passionate about helping teams become innovation engines. She guides participants through a “strategic execution” exercise. It’s a practice that quickly leads people to successful collaborative solutions.
- Arizona Representative David Cook, elected to the state legislature in 2016 on behalf of The Grove and the surrounding area. A rancher and former Department of Corrections employee, he serves on the Gila County Cattle Producers Board and the University of Arizona Cooperative Expansion Advisory Board.
