SAFFORD — The Great Communities Resource Center has an important mission to help the region’s most special citizens.
GCRC serves people with developmental disabilities. The Centers for Disease Control reports that autism cases have increased 10% over the past 20 years, making these services more needed than ever.
The Adult Day Program for 18+ provides communication, daily living, socialization, self-regulation, and life skills training for adults with increased needs.
For teenagers and adults, specially trained in pre-employment training and transition to employment, a 17-module program to help individuals prepare for work within the community, or at GCRC recycling stores. Under the supervision of our staff, we can assist and guide them. I have special needs. Employment in communities and thrift stores helps GCRC members earn money and achieve some degree of independence.
Children’s After School and Summer programs serve children ages 6 to 18.

The GCRC has expanded its service area into Wilcox and northern Cochise counties, offering the same care programs and job training offered in Graham and Greenlee counties, including opportunities for adults to work at GCRC thrift stores. bottom.

The mission of the Great Community Resource Center continues thanks to the generous support of the community.
