(T.Center Square) – A Colorado man has been arrested in Arizona on suspicion of possessing a 24.5-pound fentanyl pill.
a media release Arizona State Police said Nelder Perez Gonzalez, 27, of Colorado State Rifle, was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses. They found 2 pounds of suspected fentanyl powder and 6.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside the car.
Gonzalez was arrested on March 6 for a traffic violation on Interstate 17 near Camp Verde, a town of about 12,000 in Yavapai County in central Arizona. The rifle is located in northeastern Colorado, about 550 miles from where Gonzalez was stopped.
“During the outage, troopers observed several signs of criminal activity,” the release said. A search of the vehicle resulted in the detection of suspicious drugs.
Gonzalez was arrested and placed in the Yavapai County Jail on charges of possessing and transporting drugs for sale and possessing and transporting dangerous drugs for sale.
