FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Snow continues to fall across northern Arizona, and areas near Flagstaff are under a winter weather warning until midnight tonight. Drivers along I-17 and I-40 should prepare for hazardous conditions as heavy snow accumulates.

The National Weather Service says snow showers will intensify this afternoon and taper off by the evening. Flagstaff is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of rain, while areas to the west, including Williams, could see up to 8 inches. Residents are being urged to slow down and use caution on snow-covered roads, especially during peak travel times.

Looking ahead, skies are expected to clear by Wednesday afternoon, with highs in the mid-30s. By Thursday, sunny skies will return with daytime highs near 44°F.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for snow showers to continue into the morning, with highs near 35°F, and up to 2 inches of additional snow accumulation. Traffic may be disrupted, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Residents are encouraged to monitor az511.gov for road closures and updates. Night temperatures can drop into the teens, so proper preparation and precautions are essential.
