An Arizona woman’s brutal murder of her boyfriend sparked an altercation between an arguing couple, police said.
Shelly Sears, 51, found the victim, Billy Stevens, 59, in a critical condition near the driveway on West Saguaro Street around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, leaving the Casa Grande. arrested by the police.
He suffered “grave trauma” and died from his injuries after being taken to a hospital in Phoenix. the police said.
“Detectives found significant evidence to conclude that Sears and Stevens had a verbal argument before hitting them with their car,” the police said in a statement.
Sears remained at the scene until he was arrested, police said.
She was charged with second-degree murder, according to Casa Grande authorities.
She is being held at the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and the case has been referred to the county attorney’s office for review.
