The U.S. Army has launched an investigation after a training course at a North Carolina base portrayed pro-life groups as terrorists, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
A training class at Fort Liberty on Wednesday featured a slide show that named pro-life groups National Right to Life and Operation Rescue as “terrorist organizations.” The Army has now launched an investigation into the slide deck and is gathering evidence. The slide deck was created by a rogue garrison employee and was not authorized for use in the presentation, the Army told the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) in a written statement. “Army policy is that pro-life organizations are not considered terrorist groups. According to documents obtained by DCNF, the Army told HASC that “the photographs and the content of the briefing are contrary to Army policy and the slides in question will not be used again and will be replaced.”
Photos from a slideshow circulating online this week show that activities pro-lifers and “anti-abortion” advocates have undertaken to spread their message include protests, mass demonstrations, picketing and attempts to offer “counseling” outside crisis pregnancy centers.
An anti-terrorism briefing was held today at Fort Liberty (Bragg) where several pro-life groups were listed as “terrorist organizations.”

Fort Liberty confirmed to the DCNF on Thursday that Wednesday's course was intended to provide “counterterrorism” training to soldiers “assigned to access control points at Fort Liberty.”
The Army told HASC it could not comment on why the slides were created and presented but that the investigation would seek to gather more details, according to a copy of the document.
“This training was conducted by civilian personnel. We cannot comment at this time on the intent of the slide's creator, but an AR15-6 investigation will be conducted to gather additional information regarding the slide,” the Army told HASC.
The Army told HASC the slides were created at Fort Liberty but had “no information” about whether they were used at other bases, according to a copy of the document. The slides were shown to about 47 soldiers at a training course on Wednesday.
“Even if this slide were not approved, it exposes how the Biden Pentagon has created a politicized environment where far-left cranks feel they can get away with indoctrinating soldiers that conservative Americans are the enemy and legitimate military targets. We are in dangerous territory,” Republican Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana told DCNF on Thursday.
Under the Biden administration, the Department of Defense and the military branches have adopted several left-leaning policies, including diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, promoting LGBTQ ideology, and abortion rights. The current Department of Defense policy, announced in 2022, allows service members to receive reimbursement for travelling out of state for an abortion.
