Arrest made in Douglas church fire | Local

TUCSON (KVOA) — A source told News 4 Tucson that he was arrested in the Douglas Church fire on Monday.

News 4 Tucson was informed that the man’s name was Eric Lidener and was being held at the Cochise County Jail.

The cause of the fire that almost completely destroyed two historic churches in Douglas is still under investigation. News 4 Tucson could increase his ATF agent presence on the scene Tuesday.

A search warrant has been issued and Douglas Police are currently executing the search warrant.

Church members said the first fire broke out at the Anglican church around 10 a.m. Monday morning and spread to the adjacent Presbyterian church.

Both churches are over 100 years old and are now in ruins.

Federal agents are working with the Douglas Fire Department to determine what caused the two churches to burn down.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
