At approximately 9:15 a.m. on May 17, 2023, officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at a home on Block 2500 North of McCulloch Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive man in the home, identified as 19-year-old Arnel L. Bell of Lake Havasu City. The victim had injuries that appeared to have been caused by a gunshot, and life-saving measures were attempted, but he died on the spot.
Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident. An investigation resulted in the arrest of Angel F. Caldera, a 22-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City, on second-degree murder charges. During his first court appearance, he was posted on $1 million bail and transferred to the Mojave County Sheriff’s Office.
