Is there a drug problem in our community? If so, what are the most common drugs?
Every community in the United States has some type of illegal drug within its borders. Contraband sales are based on supply and demand. If there is a demand, someone finds a way to supply it through legal or illegal means.
Prescott Valley is Arizona’s fifth safest community, but there are illegal substances sold here that community members should be aware of. These include fentanyl, methamphetamine, black market marijuana, hash, prescription drugs, and cocaine.
Since 1988, the Prescott Valley Police Department has been placed on the Partners Against Drug Trafficking (PANT) countywide drug task force to help curb illegal drug trafficking in the Quad City. To assist in this effort, two years ago, the Prescott Valley Police Department created and deployed the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEU) to combat drug trafficking and drug-related crime specifically in Prescott Valley. DEU and PANT work together regularly. This includes sharing information to better serve our communities and keep them safe.
The Prescott Valley Police Department and PANT also recently partnered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to police local, county, state and state drug trafficking and drug trafficking in all incorporated and unincorporated areas of Yavapai County. We work to stop related crimes. federal level.
