At Phoenix Forge, Sinema Meets with Local Mayors & Employers to Discuss Arizona Priorities in New Congress

Senators discussed priorities on housing, water, broadband and transportation infrastructure with Maricopa County mayors and local business leaders

phoenix – Arizona Senator Kirsten Cinema held a roundtable in Phoenix Forge with Maricopa County mayors and local business leaders to discuss issues affecting the city, town and business community, including housing, water and transportation infrastructure issues. We discussed our priorities on the issue of giving.

Cinema brought together the Maricopa County Mayor and local business leaders who are members of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council to discuss legislative solutions to challenges facing communities in the Greater Phoenix area.

Senators want to invest in Arizona’s infrastructure for a future of safer roads, more accessible broadband, and safer water, to keep Arizona competitive and to challenge foreign enemies like China. highlighted the success of bipartisan cooperation after passing a historic law to strengthen the Eradicate the roots of gun violence, protect democracy and electoral integrity, and ensure legal protections for marriage and religious freedom.

Roundtable participants included Avondale Mayor Ken Wise, Buckeye Mayor Eric Ausborne, Gilbert Mayor Bridget Peterson, Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega, Surprise Mayor Skip Hall, Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizziro and Apache. It included Junction Mayor Chip Wilson, a representative from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and a representative from Salt. River Project and Arizona Public Service, and other local businesses his leader.

The senator thanked Phoenix Forge for providing Arizona people with opportunities to learn and grow through educational workshops and resources. Phoenix Forge is a makerspace offered by GateWay Community College on behalf of the Maricopa County Community College District. Partners who have developed Phoenix Forge include GateWay Community College, Arizona State University, City of Phoenix, US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Development, and Arizona Public Service.
