If you're the Atlanta Braves, this is the season to give up on.
The iconic franchise was on the outside looking in Tuesday when it came to the National League playoff situation, especially in the wild-card race. 1.0 game difference rivals, the New York Mets.
Once a team competing for the NL East title, it now appears they may miss the postseason altogether, and their second-half collapse was due in large part to injury after injury, many of them to the team's elite players. Well, that list got even longer on Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Reinaldo LopezThe Braves had a great season with 8 wins, 5 losses, an ERA of 2.03 and 137 strikeouts, but he was forced to leave the team after just one inning against the Washington Nationals. The Braves diagnosed him with “strained right shoulder.” The MRI is scheduled for Wednesday..
Right-hander Reinaldo Lopez left tonight's game due to right shoulder tightness.

Damn, my Braves have not had a moment to rest this season, this has been happening literally all season.
As this Twitter user put it, 2024 really is cursed.

I'm curious to see how good this team could have been if they'd stayed healthy. The Braves had a ton of talent when the season started. It's a shame.
But that's sport, guys.
