Auburn to Bama? Former 5-star guard now in portal expected to visit Tuscaloosa

Before the transfer portal, it was nearly impossible for a player in any sport to transfer directly from one rival team to another.

But in today's era of college sports, that reality may not be too far off.

Former Auburn five-star guard Aiden Holloway, a McDonald's All-American and unanimous top-20 player in the 2023 class, is reportedly planning to visit Alabama after entering the transfer portal last week.

Holloway showed some flashes of talent as a freshman, but overall didn't necessarily live up to the hype as a superstar impact player.

Holloway averaged 7.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game as a freshman while shooting just over 30 percent from the 3-point line.

He was held scoreless for 13 minutes during Auburn's shock loss to Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Holloway feels a change of scenery is best for him, and Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide are currently competing for his signature.
