David added that the new facility will ensure Ginn Institute of Technology maintains its position as one of the leading advanced manufacturing schools in the country.

According to the university, the planned renovations will include new laboratories focused on “manufacturing, materials analysis and testing,” as well as provide “collaborative and innovative spaces to encourage idea generation and project development and foster a vibrant environment for entrepreneurship and technological advancement.”

The university is seeking an architect to renovate the 16,000-square-foot space beneath the Gavin Garden on the roof of the Ginn School of Engineering.

The monthly summary also provided updates on the University's other upcoming projects, including a $25.7 million video board scheduled for completion in the north end zone of Jordan-Hare Stadium by the start of the 2025 football season, a studio theater and amphitheater planned for the Jay and Suzie Gogue Performing Arts Center, and renovation plans for Rural Studios' Red Barn in New Bern, Alabama.
