After a month-long search for Texas A&M University student Caleb Harris, 21, authorities discovered human remains at a wastewater treatment plant.
His roommates were unable to track him down after he walked his dog in the early hours of the morning, and Corpus Christi police said his family reported him missing in early March. (RELATED: Riley Strain's body found in Cumberland River, police say)

The Corpus Christi Police Department shared on Facebook that city workers discovered human remains in a well while performing maintenance on a wastewater pumping station and called police.
Authorities said the body bore no “obvious signs of homicide” but was transported to the Nueces County Coroner's Office for examination.
Authorities said Wednesday that the body was so decomposed that the medical examiner was unable to determine a cause of death or identify the body as that of Caleb Harris.

The DNA sample, along with DNA from Harris' parents, was sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification (UNTCHI) for analysis.
Officials said that if the unidentified remains “represent the biological child of (Caleb Harris' parents), the odds of the remains being discovered are approximately 2.4 trillion times greater than if they belonged to an unrelated individual from the Caucasian population.” Poop.
“Our hearts are all heavy after learning tonight that our beloved Caleb's identity has been confirmed, and we mourn the loss of our son,” Harris' family said in a statement on Wednesday, ABC News reported. “We thank you for your prayers and support during this tragic time.”
Authorities said the investigation into Harris' death remains ongoing.
