A 40-year-old Chinese kindergarten teacher was executed this week after being convicted of poisoning 25 students, according to CBS News.

Wang was initially sentenced to nine months in prison for intentional harm, but was later sentenced to death, according to CBS News. Her appeal was reportedly dismissed by the court. Two years ago, she used the same chemical to poison her husband, who survived with only minor injuries, according to CBS News.
China reportedly does not publish data on executions. But human rights NGO Amnesty International estimates that China carries out thousands of executions a year, far more than any other country, Reuters reported.
