Authorities Name Suspect in Kentucky Church Shooting

Authorities have pinpointed the residence of a 47-year-old man suspected in a shooting incident that occurred at a church in Kentucky on Sunday.

The suspect allegedly shot a state trooper in Lexington before making his way to Richmond Road Baptist Church, according to police reports. Following his attack, he reportedly killed two women and injured two men.

The female victims have been identified as 34-year-old Christina Combs and 72-year-old Beverly Gumm, according to police. They were mother and daughter, as confirmed by their family. The two male victims, linked to the family, were Randy Combs, Christina’s husband, and Jerry Gumm, Beverly’s spouse.

Update from the Fayette County Coroner’s Office named the suspect as Guy E. House. The shooting victims from Richmond Road Baptist Church have been identified as Beverly Gumm and Christina Combs.

Family members reported that the shooter was looking for Angeline Rutherford, a family member who has three children. He was asked about her whereabouts, and when he learned she wasn’t there, the family claims he declared, “Someone will have to die.” Starr Rutherford mentioned that their mother was a devoted member of the church.

The state trooper who was injured is currently in a stable condition, having received medical treatment.

Law enforcement confirmed that the suspect was shot and killed at the scene. In a press statement, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear emphasized the unacceptability of such violence in society and extended his condolences to the families affected.

This shooting incident is now being investigated by the Kentucky State Police’s Critical Incident Response Team.
