AWC police is parting up with Heal the Hero in Yuma | Yuma







Yuma — AWC Police is partnering with Heal the Hero Foundation to provide technology-based health and wellness programs for local emergency responders.

Located at the AWC Reskill and Technology Center, the Command Performance Program brings state-of-the-art neuroscience-based brain performance technology to Yuma’s police, fire and emergency medical services. This 6-month program is designed to improve the subject’s stress tolerance, optimize performance, improve work speed and accuracy, enhance rest and sleep cycles, and reduce anxiety. .

“Arizona Western University and the AWC Police Department are excited to partner with Heal the Hero and Vitanya to bring this program to first responders in the Yuma area,” said AWC Police Chief Steven Suho. rice field. “It is important that law enforcement and fire/EMS first responders maintain good psychological and emotional health. We believe this program will help participants achieve that goal. All of this leads to responders who have valued themselves better able to care for those they serve in their communities throughout their careers. ”

This innovative program is made available to first responders thanks to a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office to the Heal the Hero Foundation, and Vitanya Brain Performance offers the program statewide. Since 2015, Heal the Hero Foundation has had a public-private partnership with Vitanya Brain Performance to provide technology-based programming for first responders and other community members suffering from stress, trauma, and PTSD.
