YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The Arizona Western College (AWC) Writing School is hosting an open mic night at the AWC Yuma campus.

The event will be held on Wednesday, April 26th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Room 282, Academic Complex (AC) Building.

On campus, we invite authors, musicians, dancers, comics, and spoken word artists to give 4-6 minute presentations of their work. Additionally, the performance should be suitable for a small stage in front of a live audience.

“Our intention with this event is to create a relaxing performance space for university and community artists to come together and enjoy each other’s work in a supportive environment,” said David Kern, Professor of English. increase.

AWC also asks participants to refrain from inappropriate references to violence, not to use racial and ethnic slurs, and to refrain from inappropriate references to gender and sexual orientation. AWC faculty and staff have the final say on what content is acceptable and what is not.
