Located near the Arizona-California border, the YPG’s mission is to ensure the operational success and reliability of the weapons systems and ammunition provided to the U.S. military on a massive scale of 1,300 square miles. YPG plans, conducts, evaluates, analyzes, reports and supports development testing, production testing and integration development/operations testing. In addition, YPG facilitates training for Army, Sister Service, Department of Defense, U.S. Government, international, and commercial customers.

On April 12th, YPG’s Director of Test will offer a private on-site tour to interested defense contractors and subcontractors. YPG’s testing expertise spans ground weapons systems (from small arms to long-range artillery), helicopter armament and target acquisition systems, artillery and tank ammunition, and cargo and personnel parachutes, including guidance system technology. Participants will have the opportunity to see each of these areas first hand and ask questions about facility operations and what testing is possible.
The next day, attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with AZDIC leaders and Congressional staff to discuss their needs and how the YPG can help them. These conversations also provide an opportunity for him to give feedback on how YPG can improve its testing facilities to meet current industry needs.
