Barack Obama Claims Morgan Wallen Is On His Summer Playlist. We Have Questions

Former President Barack Obama unveiled his summer 2024 playlist on Monday, and it has us wondering:

Obama's Summer Playlist Performed against a rainbow backdrop, his open-minded personality is apparent as he belts out feel-good (and boring) classics like Norah Jones' “Come Away With Me” and Bob Dylan's “Silvio,” perfectly suited to promoting the singer's new biopic.

But the song on Obama's playlist that we all need to look out for, which we all know probably wasn't put together by Obama himself, is Moneybagg Yo's “Whiskey Whiskey” featuring Morgan Wallen.

Warren's appearance on Obama's playlist is something of a surprise: In 2021, major news outlets pulled her from their broadcasts after a neighbor filmed her drunkenly making racist slurs with friends. (RELATED: Morgan Wallen's Surprise New Song Might Make You Cry Easily)

Despite the complete lack of support from the mainstream music industry, Wallen's 2022 release of “Dangerous: The Double Album” was so good that most Americans accepted his apology and he became the best-selling country artist for three years in a row. But most of the big music world still hates Warren, which is why it was pretty shocking to see him on President Obama's playlist.

But that's not all.

At first glance, “Whiskey Whiskey” may seem like a strategic choice on Obama's part — Wallen doesn't take the lead on the song; he's merely a featured artist — but including him on the playlist lets Americans know that Obama loves Morgan Wallen just like the rest of us do. The problem is…Whisky Whisky” ” is not a very good song, but that's mainly because of Warren's part. It's not terrible, but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the songs on Obama's playlist. It feels like his team told him to include it just to appease Warren's fans. Not only does it feel obvious, it also lacks credibility.

On the other hand, Obama chose “365” from Charlie XCX's album Brat instead of “Von Dutch,” so maybe he just has weird taste. Either way, we need answers as to whether Obama had anything to do with this playlist, because it just doesn't make sense.
