Barricaded suspects detained by local law enforcement

UPDATE: According to the Yuma Police Department, a man has been arrested for fleeing police for violating a stop sign. Another man was arrested on a felony warrant and the woman was released.

Update: Two men and a woman were detained Monday morning after fleeing law enforcement. They then found homes on Avenue C and Third Place, where they barricaded themselves.

“It was a young man and everything happened so fast. All I could say was he was running and a sheriff guy was chasing him. After that it was crowded with cops so , we didn’t want to go outside”. Eric, witness.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office issued a search warrant.

Update: KYMA witnessed a handcuffed woman and two men being taken from their home by SWAT and placed inside a police car. Law enforcement has begun to leave and the scene is being cleared. Residents can now return to their homes.

Update: Border Patrol is looking for at least one individual who appears to be barricading a nearby home in the area. Avoid areas. People in this area are currently not allowed into their homes.

YCSO says to avoid the 3rd and Avenue C areas.
