Rep. Barry Moore Supports Trump’s Stance on DC Crime
US Representative Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) backs President Donald Trump’s initiatives aimed at revitalizing Washington, DC.
In light of a recent incident where staff members were assaulted, Trump alerted local authorities that they needed to implement better measures or he would consider “federalizing” the city.
“We transform cities. We enhance their beauty. It’s unfortunate to see such high crime rates, with disturbing percentages for robbery and murder. That just shouldn’t be tolerated,” Trump emphasized.
Moore addressed these concerns on WVNN’s “Yafie Program” on Wednesday, stating, “The Democrats leading the city are failing to uphold law enforcement effectively. You really shouldn’t be walking around DC, particularly in most areas after dark. Just last month, an intern was tragically shot in a drive-by. We witnessed what happened when staff members tried to assist a woman being assaulted.”
The House of Representatives reiterated that the lenient approach to crime is falling short in the city.
“This situation arises when certain groups want to defund the police, leaving people to choose between self-protection and calling for help,” Moore argued. “And with these lenient district attorneys, the result is merely a slap on the wrist for criminals.”
Moore maintains that improving safety in the nation’s capital sends a clear message regarding America’s commitment to law and order.
“It’s crucial to secure our capital now,” he remarked. “Visitors from across the globe come to walk these streets and experience the heart of our democracy. It’s time to prioritize law and order, starting here in Washington.”
