Congressman Barry Moore Calls for Charlie Kirk Statue at Capitol
U.S. Congressman Barry Moore has backed a request from Anna Paulina Luna, a fellow Republican from Florida, advocating for a statue of Charlie Kirk to be erected at the Capitol.
“We urge the placement of a Charlie Kirk statue as a tribute to his legacy,” the letter addressed to House Speaker Mike Johnson stated. It emphasizes that this initiative is “not merely a symbolic act” but rather a tribute to Kirk’s dedication, bravery, and sacrifices. The letter also conveys the importance of staying committed to peaceful political discourse and the pursuit of truth.
Moore, representing Enterprise and part of a group of 16 congressional members, expressed his sorrow on social media following Kirk’s passing. He highlighted how Kirk’s consistent advocacy for fundamental values like faith, family, and freedom inspired many Americans to stand resilient for the nation’s future.
“Charlie Kirk was an indefatigable advocate for freedom,” Moore remarked, noting Kirk’s devotion to spreading love and strengthening the next generation of conservatives. He believes that a statue at the U.S. Capitol would be a meaningful way to commemorate Kirk’s impact and inspire future generations to uphold the values of freedom.
Following Kirk’s death, Vice President JD Vance, alongside Second Lady Usha Vance, arranged for Kirk’s body to be returned to his Arizona hometown via Air Force Two.
Additionally, Senator Nancy Mace of South Carolina has expressed intentions to propose a resolution to honor Kirk’s legacy in the Capitol.
