Barry Moore’s proposal to deport undocumented immigrants found guilty of DUI will ‘protect countless lives in America’

Rep. Barry Moore’s Legislative Efforts Against Drunk Driving by Illegal Immigrants

US Representative Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is advocating for new laws aimed at preventing liberal states, like California, from releasing illegal immigrants arrested for serious crimes back onto the streets.

His recent bill, which is connected to the 2025 DUI Act, was supported by figures including Jeremy, Angel Shee, and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza, and passed the Judiciary Committee in February. The proposed legislation mandates the immediate deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of DUI or similar offenses.

Though a comparable bill was approved in 2024, it unfortunately failed to make it through the Senate.

Moore discussed the pressing issue on the “Yafie Program” on Tuesday. He recounted alarming incidents, such as a fifth-time DUI offender in Colorado who tragically killed his own mother and 16-year-old son. In another case from Florida, a third DUI resulted in the death of a kindergartner, illustrating the dangers of allowing such individuals to remain in the country.

He expressed concern about the leniency shown by some judges and courts, suggesting that they often do not impose strict penalties, effectively giving offenders a pass. Despite receiving bipartisan support in the past, Moore noted that many Democrats now resist any form of immigration enforcement.

“It’s surprising to see this shift within the committee,” he remarked. “It seems like anything that can help illegal immigrants avoid consequences is being pursued. We aim to strengthen the law in a way that addresses reckless driving decisively.” He emphasized the importance of treating the privilege of living in America seriously and adhering to its laws to ensure public safety.
