It was the Battle of Birds that Flagstaff took over the Empire on Tuesday. The Flagstaff Eagles came to the top with a nail bitter against the Empire Ravens and were sneaking up past 4-3. For the Eagles, this counts as a revenge for an 8-7 victory. The Ravens left in March 2024 when they last faced each other.

Broden Custer and Anthony Rosales ruled on the mound. Custer pitched three innings giving up on the runs and hits he acquired, but Rosales pitched three innings, giving up on the runs and hits he acquired.

On the plate, Flagstaff had four different players stepped up and recorded at least one hit. One of them was Christian Welker, who ran when he ran 4-4. Welker also raised the double. This was his first season.

This victory even brought Flagstaff back 3-3. As for Empire, they recently lost four of their last five contests and traveled the rocky path. It has placed a notable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Flagstaff hasn’t wasted time returning to the field and is already playing the next matchup. On the 12th they won 20-3 against Rincon/University. As for Empire, they didn’t take long to hit the field again. They have already played their next game, winning 9-3 against Mountain View on the 12th.
