Bath & Body Works has sparked a flurry of customer complaints after launching Christmas candles with scents deemed to be racist.
The candle, dubbed “Crandle” on social media, featured a snowflake design that some customers said clearly resembled the white hoods worn by members of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Bath & Body Works removed its “Snowed In” scented candles from its website and apologized in a statement. TMZ.
“We listen to our teams and customers and are committed to correcting any mistakes we make, even unintentional mistakes like this one. We apologize to those who were offended. Other X users criticized the company for removing the candles, with one user calling the outraged users “fucking naive.”
