A video of a man lounging on the beach with his family on Tuesday caught a type of seagull went viral.

The video shows the man who has become permanently known as The Beachman (maybe Birdman, but I prefer the Beachman) while a seagull tries to steal a snack from the right side of his chair while he is on the beach. It is shown pretending to take a nap on a lounger. But Beachman planned a trap all along, and he quickly caught the bird before it flew away.

The beachman had a great interaction with the birds as onlookers screamed and took videos. By the end of the video, the two had clearly bonded. He even crouched down to feed the seagulls.

I don’t know who the beachmen are or where they come from, but I’d like to think there are some among us. His tone and appreciation for wildlife is beautiful, reminiscent of the late zoological legend Steve Irwin. (Related: Wait, who TF does this guy think he is?)

Of course, many started crying online. I complain About the guy’s skill, his kindness, his personality clearly superior to literally everyone else on the internet.

But who cares about a fun cop when there’s a Beachman! my new hero.
