KCAL news anchor and Emmy Award-winning journalist Chauncey Glover has died suddenly at the age of 39.
His family issued a statement confirming his death, but provided no further information about the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

The three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist began fulfilling her childhood dream and began her professional career at WTVM News in Columbus, Georgia.
Grover’s father created a mini-anchor desk when he was just 5 years old, hosting a newscast for the family every Sunday after church. His passion fueled his success and he soon became KTRK’s first black male evening anchor. He joined the KCAL news anchor team in October 2023. Glover co-anchored the 5pm and 11pm newscasts with Pat Harvey and shared the news desk with Siouxsie Sioux on the 8pm and 10pm KCAL News.
Mr. Grover proudly served his community through numerous outreach programs. After witnessing a teenager die on the street, he launched a mentorship initiative called the Chauncey Glover Project to help at-risk teenage boys contribute to society. – Launched the program.
