Beloved “Full House” actor Dave Courier revealed his cancer diagnosis on Wednesday’s episode of “Today.”
The Courier told host Hoda Kotb that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer, five weeks ago.
“During that time, I had three surgeries. I went through chemotherapy and lost some hair,” he said. The famous actor and comedian quipped: But it’s definitely been a roller coaster. ”
Courier went on to say that he has B-cell lymphoma, which he described as an “aggressive” cancer.
“The developing lymphoma in my groin developed so quickly that I said, ‘Something’s wrong, there’s a golf ball here,'” he told Kotb.
“So we did a biopsy, took it out, and they said, ‘You know, we wish we had better news, but you have B-cell lymphoma. Right away. need to undergo chemotherapy.”
Courier said he was home alone when he was informed of his diagnosis, and when he told his wife that tests had revealed that he had cancer, she told him to “stop joking.” acknowledged.
Reality quickly set in, with Courier describing the situation as a “gut punch.”

He said initial blood tests were normal, but further tests revealed “hot spots” in his neck and groin, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of cancer.
Courier was relieved by the results of a bone marrow test that showed the cancer had not spread anywhere else in her body.
“The cure rate has risen to over 90 percent at that point, so it’s very treatable,” he says.
The famous actor said he has already undergone one round of chemotherapy and is scheduled to undergo another round in the coming days. He admitted to shaving his hair, describing it as “a bit of a pre-emptive strike because I knew it was coming.” (Related: Bhad Bhabi shocks fans as he appears to share health update)
He continues to play hockey and live a full and active life with a positive attitude toward the future.
Courier hopes to be in remission by the time he finishes treatment in February, saying early detection is key and encouraging fans to stay healthy.
