Ben McAdoo, who was fired by the team midway through the 2017 season and left our New York Giants in tatters, has mysteriously taken a coaching job with the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, a man I'll call “Ben McAdoodoo” who made many outrageous decisions during his short tenure as head coach, somehow convinced the Patriots to He was hired as an offensive assistant coach.
McAdoo had a lot of promise in his first year with the Giants. After coming to the team as the former quarterbacks coach for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, McAdon didn't have a solid track record as the Giants' offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2015. He was so solid that the Giants hired him as their head coach in 2016.
McAdoo had a great regular season. 2016, led the Giants to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth in his first year as captain. But the fun ended there. (Related: Legendary NFL QB Boomer Esiason says Bill Belichick turned down Falcons head coaching job)
The Giants lost in the first round to McAdoo's old friends, the Green Bay Packers. The game has been dubbed the “Boat Game” ever since Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard and a number of other Giants stars were photographed partying on a boat just a week before the big contest. It will continue to gain notoriety.

The incident essentially cursed the team, considering the Giants have only returned to the playoffs once and have posted a negative point differential every year since the infamous snap.
The following year, McAdoo hit rock bottom. Considered the mastermind of the offense, he managed a team that ranked 31st in scoring but lost 10 of his first 12 games before the Giants fired him. But not until he left behind a small farewell gift.
In the final game, McAdoo made the embarrassing decision to bench franchise legend Eli Manning, ending his incredible Ironman starting streak at 210 games.

Who is the best quarterback to come off the bench in Giants history? A young guy with something to prove? Future franchise quarterback? No. Jeno. Extremely. Smith.

I don't mean to disrespect Smith. His impressive career revival efforts led to him becoming eligible for the NFL. 2022 Comeback Player of the Year Award. But at the time, it was $1.3 million a year. contractSmith was considered nothing more than a strong backup.
I'm a strong believer in forgiveness, so I'm willing to forgive McAdoo for ruining the career of my favorite team's best quarterback and sending us into a death spiral from which we will never recover. But I'm definitely not going to forget it.
Everyone is entitled to a path to redemption, but in McAdoo's case it will be a much longer road than it actually is. If he wants to continue working in the NFL, he should have to start over as a waterboy.
Good luck, New England. Now he is your problem.
