Beryl Aurita (Binde) Schrader, 69, of Fargo, North Dakota, died of natural causes on February 19, 2023. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 2:00 pm in Fargo’s Riverview Place in his living room. A memorial service is planned at her family’s farm in Fortuna, North Dakota.
Beryl was born on January 2, 1954 in Williston, North Dakota, to Paul and Therese (Parnas) Binde of Fortuna, North Dakota. She was her fourth of her eleven children in her family.
She grew up on her family’s wheat farm, attended elementary schools in the Lincoln Valley and Fortuna, and graduated from Divide County High School in 1972. Her life on her farm was spent mostly helping with household chores, farm/garden chores, and playing card her games. , board games, softball, croquet, and every summer she goes camping with her family. Beryl was always up for a little fun!
She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in mathematics in 1976 and later worked for the North Dakota Geological Survey. Beryl was a free spirit, living in many remote areas of Arizona, enjoying the desert environment and living close to nature. She also spent time driving a semi-trailer truck from coast to coast.
Beryl embarked on a big adventure in 1986-1987, traveling around Australia for several months, visiting sisters Diane and Sheila, seeing most of Australia.
Upon returning to the United States, Beryl earned two degrees in elementary education from the University of North Dakota. She then returned to Arizona where she taught her first grade on the Navajo Reservation where she enjoyed interacting with her children.
In 1996, Beryl had a stroke that left him with most of his ability to speak and use the right side of his body. She returned to North Dakota to recover and rehabilitate, recovering some of her losses and being able to live independently after some time.While living in Fargo, she met Renee Schrader. met and married in 1998. Beryl and Lenny enjoy fishing and camping together, and have made many fun outings to fishing spots and state parks. Lenny died suddenly in 2019.
At the time of her death, Beryl was living in Fargo’s Riverview Place Assisted Living and was very familiar with everyday life in this setting.
She is survived by Diane (Dennis) Mackrell, brother of Euroa in Australia. Nancy (Scott) Corrado in Columbia Falls, Montana. Sheila (Greg) Sleeping in Port Lincoln, Australia. Scott Bind of Alexandria, Virginia. Lyndon (Carrie) Binde of Horace, Naturopathic Physician. Leon (Barb) Binde of Fargo, North Dakota. sister-in-law Debbie Binde of Lake Park, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, nieces and nephews-in-law, and great nieces and nephews. Beryl was widowed by her husband Lenny. her parents, Paul and Therese; brother, Nolan. Brothers Dale, Boyd and Newell. brother-in-law and niece.
