This is a pretty cool story.
Recently, a group of St. Louis kids visited a gym on the north side of town to find that it had been renovated and revamped — and it was all thanks to one of their local heroes, a Boston Celtics superstar. Jayson Tatum.
Not only that, but after the kids had a little taste of the moment, Tatum himself made an appearance.

“I'd never met a basketball superstar,” Beverly said after posing for a photo with Tatum, “so this is the best thing that's ever happened to me in my life.”
As a young man, Tatum played basketball for the Matthews-Dickey Club, also known as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis.
“The first time I dunked in a game was when I was in seventh or eighth grade and I dunked on this hoop,” Tatum said. St. Louis Post-Dispatch“Giving back has always been important to me. When I was younger I had this idea, this thought, this vision. I didn't necessarily know what it would look like, but now I'm in a position to play where I grew up and help make things better. Seeing the kids' reactions, they get excited when they see me and they see the court. It's an incredible feeling.”
