Supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris have rushed to fill a glaring hole in their candidate's support: men, launching “White Men for Harris” Zoom rallies and fundraisers.
The latest national polls show former President Donald Trump leading Harris 47-39 among male voters. Economist/YouGov PollThe poll finds him leading male voters in Michigan by 16 points and male voters in Pennsylvania by 15 points. Emerson College Poll. But Harris' presidency will be unpopular with white men who have been the targets of her signature “equality” policy, which Democrats are pressuring her to expand if she becomes president.
Maurice Mitchell, national leader of the Working Families Party, said: First Speaker On Monday night, she denounced the “sexist” and “racist” attacks against Harris personally and urged viewers to think about her policies. Amen.
Harris is a very approachable person with a long track record. The problem is that her main platform is about fairness, which sounds like equality but is actually the opposite: favoring women and certain minorities and disadvantaging white men.
of The Washington Post and Time Magazine A recent review of Ms. Harris' stance on this issue shows a clear lack of impartiality. No wonder. Her views are harmful.
Harris made equity a key idea in her 2020 campaign against Biden, with her Facebook ads portraying black men as needing help to compete with white men and ultimately earn the same positions.
President Joe Biden's naive views on race; As he said Charlaman the God said that if you don't vote Democrat, “you're not black.” Harris has filled that void, making equity the defining principle of the Biden-Harris Administration.
On January 21, 2021, the government Announced Promoting equity across government.
The first bill was American Rescue ActSection 1005 limited the subsidies to “socially disadvantaged” farmers, a term defined elsewhere in federal law solely on the basis of race and ethnicity, not individual circumstances.
Similarly, the bill provided up to $5 million per establishment to restaurateurs affected by COVID-19, but only women, veterans, and “disadvantaged” minorities could apply for the program during its first three weeks, leaving white, male restaurateurs to the back of the line, hoping the program's funds would never run out.
Fortunately, federal courts have struck down these provisions.
It's important to get the facts straight. In a Zoom call on Monday, James A. Williams Jr., president of the International Association of Painters and Allied Industries, tried to praise the Biden-Harris Administration for passing “some of the most important legislation for white people,” claiming that the American Rescue Act and the Biden-Harris infrastructure bill helped them. Very misleading.
The Administration's proposed “Build Back Better” bill would actually punish them: It prioritized minority- and women-owned contractors and subcontractors, and its housing efficiency provisions gave contractors a $200 bonus for each client in a minority neighborhood, but not for others.
That's not fair. Why should skin color or gender matter when buying or selling solar panels?
In 2023, Harris blasted a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that said colleges must base their admissions decisions on merit, not skin color. She said a societal ideal that ignores skin color means being blind to “the power that diversity brings to classrooms and boardrooms.”
Voters need to ask themselves whether they agree with Harris or whether they want a society that treats people as individuals.
Far-left lawmakers have targeted Harris' presidency to expand equality policies: In April, 400 lawmakers and activists signed a letter to the White House calling racial equality “unfinished business” and urging further action, including executive action if necessary, to advance racial equality.
Harris is ready to carry this mission forward.
Progressive policies that disadvantage white men threaten all men. It's no surprise that Gen Z men (ages 19-30) who supported Biden and the Democrats in 2020 are now supporting Republican control of Congress and President Trump. According to the Wall Street Journal, many feel that diversity efforts are coming at their expense.
Those concerns weren't mentioned even once during Monday's Zoom call. Harris shouldn't expect the victims of her fair play policies to vote for her in November's election.
Discrimination does not erase past discrimination or bring people together.
