Yuma — With the long-awaited project completed, Yuma residents can now experience the newly renovated Walmart Neighborhood Market at 2675 W. 8th St. To celebrate the store improvements, Walmart will be hosting his re-grand opening celebration on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 8am.
A total of $8,000 in grants will be awarded to three community organizations: the AdvoKate Foundation, Yuma Relay for Life, and the Atticus Kindness Project.
Celebrations include activities with local vendors such as Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Frito-Lay, and feature Chester Cheetahs and Coca-Cola polar bears. There will also be special guest appearances from Walmart radio DJs, representatives from the Yuma Chamber of Commerce, Mayor’s Office, National Anthem Singer Miss He’s Yuma He’s County, Kofa High School Band, and Gadsden Elementary School Folkloric Dance Club. A local favorite, Mr. G’s, will also have a food truck.
The store refurbishment includes transforming several departments and expanding innovations that help customers save time.
Walmart store manager Stephanie Myers said: “We welcome the Yuma community to come celebrate with us and see the many enhancements across the store.”
