Black Voter In Swing State Says The One Thing Democrats Don’t Want To Hear

A male black voter in Swing State said on NBC News on Thursday he supported the decision to support President Donald Trump.

“Meet the Press” interviewed a black man from swing state who voted for Trump in the 2024 election. Despite saying he has some reservations about Trump’s way as president, most have reaffirmed his support for him.

“I approve him because he’s excluded a lot of things because he has so many other people’s confusion in the US. It’s going to be a tough job for him in the entire Trump administration, but I’m just waiting and watching what happens now.”

Thomas A., a 49-year-old Georgia Democrat who voted for Biden in 2020 and switched to Trump in 2024, said he disagrees completely with one of Trump’s methods, but still supports him.

“I believe he’s removing the mess that’s been there for a long time. He’s just cleaning the house, but there’s a way to do that. [with] How he cleans his home, but there are some areas within the government that need to be improved,” Thomas said.

Ilya M said Trump will take a proactive approach as president.

“He said he was going to do some things. He did a lot,” Ilya M said.

“At least he tried and actually did something, so that’s probably more than I can say about Democrats.”

“I disapprove of the way he handled the firing of government officials. Public and private sector shootings are two different animals. In my opinion, he should have gone with Mesarpell instead of a Watt torch.

Recent NBC News Focus groupa black man from Swing State who voted for Trump in November continues to support his administration primarily, despite saying he is concerned about government efficiency (DOGE) and Trump’s tariff policies. While most of the focus group participants continue to support Trump, there are disparities in issues such as diversity, equity, inclusion programs and economic strategies to combat inflation. Some participants said Democrats were frustrated because they had no direction.

Once in office in January, Trump quickly began signing executive orders. His approach included dismantling the Ministry of Education, which was set up by previous administrations, and turning the initiative back on. Democrats have formed resistance to Trump and his initiatives, particularly Doge.

In response to Trump’s policies, a coalition of national democratic groups, including the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Election Commission, and the State Democratic Association, have launched a tour of “The People’s Town Hall.” They target Republican-controlled districts across the United States. The Democrats were suffering huge losses in the 2024 election. That same year, Republicans won the White House and Senate, and held the House.
