‘Blow Their Heads Off’: Man Sentenced For Stalking, Harassing Stranger For Years

A Pennsylvania man was sentenced to state prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to harassing and stalking a woman over a period of years.

Brian Mahoney was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to seven charges, one of which was making “terrorist threats.” press release From the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office (DA) Office.

The victim changed jobs, but Mahoney soon found a new occupation and continued to stalk her. He also showed up at the workplace of the victim’s relative, according to the press release.

“This truly changed the victim’s life,” said Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Ponessa.

Mahoney also contacted the woman’s family on social media, prosecutors said. He left threatening voicemails for police officers involved in previous incidents involving him and the victim. (Related: Video shows the moment ‘delusional’ stalker tried to assassinate couple in their home)

In one of the voicemails, Mahoney mentioned the officer and the woman he was stalking and threatened to “blow your head off,” according to the press release.

According to a press release, the victim told the court that her life has been “eaten by fear and anxiety” since the stalking began, and that Mahoney had “darker intentions.”

“I was emotionally devastated by the overwhelming knowledge that someone was watching me, showing up unannounced and invading my privacy,” the woman told the court.

Ponessa argued that the sentence should be harsh to protect the community from Mahoney’s “sick and twisted” threats.

According to the DA’s office, Mahoney claimed his actions were the result of “insufficient medication for his bipolar disorder.” He claimed his actions were “out of line”. (Related: FBI investigates pilot suspected of stalking woman from ground and air)
