Blue Jays Throw Their Hat Into The Ring For Juan Soto: REPORT

Could Juan Soto head to T-Dot?

According to a report from Jon Heyman of the New York PostSuperstar Free Agent Sweepstakes Juan Soto The list was eventually narrowed down to eight teams, including the New York Yankees and New York Mets as potential candidates. (Shocker, I know)

That being said, there is one team that could send shockwaves throughout the major leagues regarding the potential acquisition of Soto. (Related: Miami Marlins names Clayton McCullough as next manager)

Six other teams besides the Yankees and Mets are also big-market franchises, but now it looks like there’s another team to throw in the ring. And they have big pockets too. According to Heyman, that team, surprisingly, is the Toronto Blue Jays, and not only that, but they are the biggest threat to lure Soto out of New York City.

“The Jays are seen by industry insiders as a viable obstacle to the favored Yankees and Mets, thanks to their wealthy ownership and strong incentives to bounce back from their disastrous disappointment in 2024.” Heyman wrote.

He also reported that two “mystery” teams – the Blue Jays, Yankees, Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants – are scheduled to meet with Soto this week in Southern California.

I doubt the guy will go to Toronto, but one thing’s for sure: this is going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
