Authorities have found the body of a missing Goldman Sachs banker, 27, in a New York City creek.
John Castick was last seen exiting the “Zed’s Dead” concert at the Brooklyn Mirage in East Williamsburg at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Fox News reports. . report. His father confirmed the death of the 27-year-old man in a statement Tuesday.
“They found his body and confirmed it was him,” his father, Jeffrey Castick, told Fox News. “Apparently he died in an accident. His wallet and mobile phone were found. A 911 call was made after a person spotted a body floating in a waterway in the Newtown Creek area, and the New York City Police Department’s docks spearheaded the recovery of the body, according to the newspaper. New York City Police called Castick’s family shortly after 2 p.m.
An investigation into Castik’s death is ongoing and an autopsy will be conducted, the media reported. A wallet and mobile phone were found with the body.
Castic’s friend Sarah Costecca said he was a “great guy” and not the type to disappear. according to to the New York Post.
Another 27-year-old named Carl Clemente also disappeared from the same venue on June 11 and was found dead in Newtown Creek, the paper reported. It is unclear whether Clemente’s death was an accident or if the two incidents are related.
