Beasley Gallery, in partnership with Grand Canyon Artist in Residence, invites you to its first exhibition of the season. In The Body of the Earth, Leah Egerter will present sculptures she has made over the past two years about the Grand Canyon and its life force. Begun during the artist's 2022 residency at the Grand Canyon Conservancy, this body of work documents her journey to perceiving the Earth as a sentient collaborator in both societal progress and personal growth. Geology records the history and impressions of its myriad life cycles. In her exchange of knowledge with the land, Egerter responds by fossilizing moments of human physical and emotional experience into tactile geological representations.
