The body of 95-year-old “The Ten Commandments” actress Darris Curry has been found in her home in Altadena, California.
Calais, affectionately known as ‘Mamma D’, was wiped out in the devastating local Eton Fire. news organization ABC7 reported. They reported that the coroner confirmed her death on Jan. 12 just before 6 p.m. The famous actress was part of Old Black Hollywood in the 50s and was active in the entertainment industry for several decades.
Dailies-Kelly, who is a part-time caregiver for her grandmother, said she dropped Curry off at her home around midnight Tuesday. Callie had been in the hospital all day and was tired. According to ABC7, Kelly left in the evening to visit other family members, but she never expected the fire to reach her grandmother’s house so quickly.

Kelly said she woke up to a text message saying the power was out at the Curry residence. When she rushed to the scene, the area was already filled with smoke.
“I’m sorry that your grandma’s property is gone,” ABC7 reported. After reaching the barricade, the officer told her: “He asked Kelly to go to the Pasadena Civic Center, where evacuees were gathering. Unfortunately, Kelly was not seen.
On Friday, the National Guard took Kelly to her grandmother’s home. She saw with her own eyes what was left of the land.

“It was complete devastation,” Kelly told the outlet.
“Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac.”

Granddaughter Laurie Beamer Wilkinson said despite her grandmother’s age, she was full of energy and had a lot of life left.
“She was so active you couldn’t believe she was 95 years old,” she told ABC7.
