Bonnie Robinson Obituary – Yuma, AZ

Our family has lost a strong center. Bonnie Adele Robinson passed on January 6, 2025 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on March 12, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Edgar and Lavernfly (deceased). The Fly family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1960, and Bonnie continued to hold a bachelor’s degree in science and management, majoring in marketing from Northern Arizona University. She settled in Yuma in the early 70s, worked for a while on the Cocopa Indian reservation, and was a professor of accounting at Arizona Western College for 25 years, and later retired as accounting superintendent for the city of Yuma.

Her warmth, wisdom and unwavering love made her into the heart of her family. She is 41-year-old husband, John Robinson of Yuma, her two beloved daughters, Felisa Taylor (Shane Barthelme) of Phoenix, Julian Castro of Sedona, three wonderful grandchildren, Justin Castro (Matthew Ponce), Joselyn Taylor and two brothers, Tyree Free of Yac Edley, Phoenix and Richard (Gerda) Badvillebel, Germany, and numerous ne and nie fries. Her legacy of love, humor, kindness and enthusiasm in life continues to inspire those who have been blessed to know her.

Bonnie is known for her amazing sense of humor, brightening up the lives of everyone around her with her quick wit and infectious laughter. She was delighted to travel annually to Flagstaff and the California coast. She enjoyed making special memories for the whole family. She provided endless love and support to all her friends and family. She was truly an angel on earth. Bonnie is deeply overlooked, but forever remembers as the beloved queen of love who united her family and filled her life with joy and laughter.

Join Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens at 11am on February 8th. In lieu of flowers, donate to the Children’s Museum and/or the Humane Society in Yuma, Arizona.
