Border officials seize about 757,000 fentanyl pills, 92 pounds of meth

Nogales, Arizona (KGUN) – Border officials recently said they arrested suspected smugglers with about 757,000 fentanyl pills and more than 90 pounds of methamphetamine.

The first drug seizure on Wednesday was about 299,600 pills, Port of Nogales Port Superintendent Michael W. Humphries shared.

On Thursday, he said U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials found:

  • 458,000 fentanyl tablets on car roof and gas tank
  • 14.05 pounds of fentanyl powder in a car bumper
  • 1.93 pounds of cocaine in car bumper

It also reported that US Border Patrol agents found more than 92 pounds of meth in Gila Bend on Thursday.

Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin says agents found a package of meth in the car’s truck. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted in the drug bust.
