U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has visited the Arizona-Mexico border for the first time since being elected to the office. Along with him were other Republican congressmen, including Rep. Juan Ciscomani, a new congressman from Arizona.

The suspension was seen as an indication of how Republicans would handle border security and immigration issues. They currently hold a majority of the House of Representatives in a split parliament.
