Famed actress Trina McGee has revealed that at the age of 54, she suffered a devastating miscarriage three months into her pregnancy.
The “Boy Meets World” star opened up about her tough experience on Monday's episode of “Tamron Hall,” explaining that things were made even more difficult because she'd already shared news of her fourth pregnancy with the world in June.
“I lost my baby. It was unexpected. It was towards the end of the first trimester. I don't know exactly why it happened,” Maggie told Hall, fighting back tears.
The actress tried her best to regain her composure, focusing on finding the positive side of a tragic situation.
“I'm so grateful to have had the experience of being pregnant at this age and at this time,” she said.
She admitted to experiencing “severe depression.”
“I have a little bit of trouble getting out of bed,” Maggie says.
She spoke of the hopes and dreams she already had for her unborn baby, but knew they would never come true.
“There are a lot of things that happen when you really want to have a family and want to complete your family,” she said. “At this juncture, it was really hard to face the fact that that wasn't going to happen.”
Maggie admitted that she and her ex-husband, actor Courtland Davis, had intentionally tried to expand their family through natural means rather than IVF, and since finding out they'd lost their baby, she's not sure if she wants to try again.

“I don't want to go through that again. My conclusion is that we're just going to continue to love each other and if it happens, that's fine, but I don't want to burden myself with any more anxiety. Sometimes it's really better to just let it all go and leave it to God,” Maggie told Tamron.(RELATED: 'I'm bleeding so much': Tiffany Haddish opens up about eight miscarriages)
