Broad Metro, a commercial real estate development company, announced major progress on its Stadium Trace development project in Hoover. The company announced Thursday that it plans to begin Phase 2 of the project, pending approval of a letter of intent submitted by Broad Metro to the Hoover City Council.

• The 82-acre development will have green space and 36 acres dedicated to the City of Hoover set aside for public use.

• The 11-acre property will be purchased by the city of Hoover at the developer's expense to help finance a planned performing arts center.

• Creation of 120,000 square feet of low-traffic, single-tenant retail and food and beverage space.

As part of the project, an extensive traffic impact study was carried out by Skipper Consulting to identify areas of concern and guidance for road improvements.

Phase 1 of Stadium Trace Village is nearly complete, but more than 1.25 moves were required. 500 yards of river, 1 million cubic yards of rock and dirt, and the same plumbing as the Army.
